Rogan-Harrison Rescheduled

31 July 2008 – by Mark Doyle

Martin Rogans postponed heavyweight clash with Audley Harrison has been rescheduled for September 6 at the Manchester Evening News Arena.

The pair had been originally set to meet in Birmingham on July 19 but the bout was scrapped just over a week beforehand due to television scheduling.

However, room has been found for the duo on Frank Warren’s Manchester show, which also features WBO super-featherweight champion Alex Arthur and Commonwealth lightweight titlist Amir Khan.

“I’m delighted that the Rogan fight has been rearranged so quickly,” stated Harrison.

“I’m looking forward to getting my career back on track, and defeating Rogan will be the perfect way of signalling my intentions.”

As for Rogan, the undefeated Northern Irishman [10-0] will be hoping to build on his fantastic Prizefighter success earlier this year.

Meanwhile, Irish middleweight Matthew Macklin, who had been down to fight on the undercard of Harrison-Rogan in Birmingham, has also been added to the September 6 line-up.
