Frampton retains his title in style

Carl Frampton retained his Commonwealth super-bantamweight title with a sensational one punch knock out in the York Hall last night.

‘The Jackal’ continued his meteoric rise toward the top sending Scot Kris Hughes to the canvas and through the ropes with a smashing right hand in round seven of a one sided bout.

The Belfast fighter controlled the contest from the start and was never threatened by Hughes at York Hall. He battered ‘The Badger’ to the body throughout before ending the fight with one punch.

The win extends Frampton’s unbeaten professional record to 12 fights while it is just a second defeat for Hughes.
