Amir Khan believes Irish Prospect of the Year Jamie Kavanagh will become a big Irish boxing hero.
The WBA Super and IBF champion of the world shares the Wild Card Gym with the Dubliner and has been suitably impressed by the undefeated eight fight novice.
Indeed the fighter, who has a not so acrimonious relationship with Irish star Paul McCloskey having controversially defeated the Derry fighter earlier this year, is not the only one to predict big Kavanagh things.
The fighter with the pound for pound title in his sites revealed the greatest boxing trainer world is a fan of the fluent Spanish speaker.
“Jamie is progressing well. He’s fought on a few of my undercards and has impressed. I know Freddie is pleased with the progress he is making and I’m sure that Ireland will have another boxing hero soon enough – he’s a top lad,” Khan told www.irish-boxing.com.
