Youth Olympians welcomed home

Team Ireland returned home from the 2014 Youth Olympics in China via Dublin Airport on Saturday.

Ciara Ginty (Geesala BC, Mayo) and Michael Gallagher (Finn Valley BC, Donegal) claimed silver and bronze at the 2nd edition of the Games, while Christina Desmond (Macroom BC, Cork) finished in 4th spot in the middleweight class.

Kildare canoeist secured a silver medal in the Slalom and Mayo’s Michael Duffy won gold for a Mixed European team in the equestrian event.
