The World awaits for Belfast’s Ryan Burnett
Belfast bantamweight Ryan Burnett goes for the British title on Saturday against Jason Booth live on Sky Sports at the Manchester Arena – and could be going for much bigger titles in the near future.
The Adam Booth-trained 23 year old has been installed as #14 in the WBO World rankings following his WBO European title win last month. The organisation’s current champ is Thailand’s Pungluang Sor Singyu [51(35)-3(1)], and Burnett knows that, if he continues his meteoric rise, he will be challenging for the belt sooner rather than later.
Burnett [11(9)-0] recently signed with Matchroom Promotions and the 2010 Youth Olympic gold medalist will be looking to headline shows in his own right in Belfast.
