‘A New Era’ Belfast show hit by withdrawal
The inaugural Kieran Farrell Promotions Belfast card has suffered a withdrawal of one of its big names with just over two weeks until fight night.
Young Manchester promoter Farrell makes his entry onto the scene on Saturday April 22nd at The Devenish Complex, but the ‘A New Era’ bill has seen Dan McShane [9(3)-1(1)] forced to pull out.
The Belfast super featherweight was due to make his return to the ring after over two years out since his last fight. However, ‘Insane’ McShane has made the smart decision to withdraw as it has become apparent that he will not be in full fighting shape by the time fight night rolls around.
The 23 year old last fought in March 2015, where he fell to a technical knockout loss after dislocating his shoulder in a clinch with Zoltan Horvath. A rematch with the Hungarian was scheduled for this month, but Horvath would withdraw.
McShane is now likely to feature on the next Kieran Farrell Promotions Belfast show, scheduled for this Summer.
The card in two weeks time co-headlined by an eight round fight between Tyrone’s Feargal McCrory and Liverpudlian Jay Carney, as well as a return to the ring for Mike Perez. In addition there are also slots for Joe Fitzpatrick, Mark Morris, Mathew Fitzsimons, Ger Healy, and Ronnie Clark, with professional debuts for Sean Higginson, Sean McGlinchey, and Sean Magee.
