‘Who gives a sh*t’ – Cacace not impressed by opponents famous singer links
The support of opera star Andrea Bocelli counts for nothing once the ring walk music stops and the first bell rings warns Anthony Cacace.
‘The Apache’ has laughed off boasts from Michael Magnesi, who he challenges for the IBO world title in Manchester, about backing from the famous Italian singer.
The Italian recently shared a special good luck video message from world-renowned tenor, something that was raised more than once during fight week.
However, the Belfast fighter all but suggests ‘The Lone Wolf’ should start singing Time to Say Goodbye, predicting he will pass over the strap on the undercard of Joe Joyce versus Joseph Parker in Manchester tonight.
“Who gives a s*** about Andrea Bocelli. We’re fighting at the end of the day,” said Cacace.
“Michael is a good champion. He is 21-0, strong and whatever else. But we will see on Saturday night how strong he is.
“I hope this is my breakout fight. I am 33 years of age so it has to be now or never.”
The Lou DiBella-guided Magnesi comes to the fight unbeaten and on the back of an eight-fight knockout streak. He has shown only one way to fight since turning over and if he retains that approach on the BT Sports card he will walk into trouble according to Cacace, 33.
“I feel he is the perfect opponent, I won’t have to go looking for him. He is going to come and march me down, which could be a bad thing for him.”
“This dude thinks he’s f invincible,” Cacace added.
