A potentially mouthwatering clash between New York based Larry Fryers [11(4)-2(1)] and Waterford’s Dylan Moran [10(5)-2(1)] has fallen through.

Irish-boxing.com has learnt that both fighters had agree to trade leather on an American show next month, only for the fight to fall through last week.

Fryers, who last fought on a Matchroom card and Moran, a fighter still waiting to put his first career defeat behind him where due to fight on a Star Boxing Promotion on November 23.

Both fighters agreed to the bout in principle and were keen for the match up, but a deal couldn’t be finalized – and as a result what would have been an intriguing domestic clash abroad won’t play out.

Irish-boxing.com understands that weight was the crunch issue and the main reason the fight isn’t going ahead.

An agreement to what weight the fight would take place at couldn’t be made.

29-year-old Fryers has for the most part operated between lightweight a light welter throughout his career while 24-year-0ld Moran is a welterweight prospect.

A catch weight couldn’t be agreed and as a result the fight won’t take place.

It’s presumably frustrating for both. Waterford’s ‘Real Deal’ in particular has had a difficult time of late. In true Moran fashion he has tried to remain positive, but he suffered his first defeat on his big American and Star Boxing debut and has been able to put some distance between himself and the knockout reverse to Dennis Okoth, a fighter who is developing a reputation as a prospect upseter.

The Deise welter suffered that defeat back in June and has since saw two fights fall through. Indeed, his proposed comeback fight in Mexico was pulled seconds before he was due to get into the ring. He was also scheduled to fight this weekend in Belfast, but the ‘He Who Dares’ card he was penciled in for was cancelled some weeks ago.

Fryers has been more active, since developing a reputation as the ultimate entertainer on the smaller hall American circuit.

However, he too suffered frustrating when his big Matchroom and DAZN break resulted in defeat. Even worse, Lethal Larry felt the negative Wesley Ferrer and some poor refereeing on the night denied him the chance to put in an entertaining display on a career changing platform.

Irish-boxing.com understands Fryers will still compete on the card, but against who remains to be seen. Ray Moylette has been mentioned as a potential foe and the pair were meant to meet earlier this year, but most likely any Monaghan Mayo clash would play out on a Murphy’s card.

Star Boxing may also use Moran on the card. He is there fighter and he could certainly do with a fight.
