An opponent has confirmed for Anthony Cacace‘s keep-busy bout in Manchester this weekend.

The BBBoC Celtic super featherweight champion will box at the Victoria Warehouse on the undercard of stablemate Tommy McCarthy’s British cruiserweight title final eliminator with Englissh champ Matty Askin.

Belfast’s Cacace [14(7)-0] will face Nicaraguan lightweight Leonel Hernandez [10(1)-15(5)-2] over six rounds on the Steve Wood-promoted show.

The 34 year old Central American has fought predominantly in his home country before his recent relocation to Spain. Back in Nicaragua, Hernandez lost twice (once on a split) to recent Paul Hyland Jr foe Nelson Altamirano. In his most recent outing he lost on points to former EU and European champion Juli Giner of Spain.

27 year old Cacace will be looking to continue building sharpness under Brian Magee following a prolonged period out of the ring – and perhaps let out some of his frustrations after learning this week that he will not secure a shot at the British 130lbs title until near next Summer.
