WBO considering a request to make Ormond v Flanagan a World title eliminator
THE WBO are considering a request to make Stephen Ormond versus Terry Flanagan an official eliminator for the WBO lightweight World title.
‘The Rock’ was announced as WBO European Boxer of the Year at 27th annual WBO Convention in Las Vegas last night and promoter Frank Warren requested ‘The Rock’s’ upcoming bout with Manchester’s Flanagan be confrmed as an official eliminator for a title currently held by Terence Crawford.
The WBO, however said no decision will be made until after Crawfords November defence against Raymundo Beltran has played out.
The WBO did ratify a Jamie Conlan and Paul Butler eliminator and also revealed the winner of Billy Joe Saunders versus Chris Eubank Jr will be next in line for the winner of Andy Lee and Matt Korobov’s middleweight world title fight, which looks set for Vegas on December 13.
