WATCH: Trailer for upcoming Billy Walsh Documentary
Tommorow night at 19:30 (Irish Time) on UTV Ireland a new series entitled Emigration Nation begins.
The first episode profiles Colorado Rapids and Republic of Ireland striker Kevin Doyle, as well as another Wexford man, a certain Mr Billy Walsh.
The former High Performance Unit chief has relocated to Colorado to coach the US Boxing team, and recently helped lead them to a successful Olympic medal tally in Rio of one gold, one silver, and one bronze.
The saga regarding the US offer and Walsh’s negotiations with the IABA instantly became one of the most controversial episodes in recent Irish sporting history.
A trailer has been released for tomorrow night’s profile and features Walsh describing his negotiations with the IABA, as well as details of his initially rocky start with the American team.
