Watch – Seamus Coleman and co present Katie Taylor with Irish jersey

Not for the first time Katie Taylor was handed her own Irish jersey today.

The undisputed lightweight champion and former Irish soccer player won’t wear it into battle this time around, but she will appreciate the gesture nonetheless.

The boxing sensation was meet at the border of the Matchroom bubble by Irish captain Seamus Coleman, fellow Bray native Darren Randolph, boxing enthusiast James McClean, Jeff Hendrick and Shane Duffy this evening.

The Irish players presented Taylor with a jersey and got the chance to admire her belt collection, as well as share a few words with the Irish sporting icon.

Ireland take on England in an International friendly at Wembely on Thursday, while Taylor represent the country in more significant action as she defends her world titles against Miriam Gutierrez at Wembely Arena on Saturday night.

Taylor a world renowned boxing star was also adapt with a ball at her feet. Indeed, the Bray native represented Ireland in soccer and scored a sensational goal against Hungry back in 2007.

Speaking about football the Leeds United supporter said:

“I love playing for Ireland, and I love soccer, but when it comes down to it I would choose boxing as my number one sport as I’d miss it too much if I wasn’t involved,” said Katie once upon a time, when asked if she’d ever exchange her gloves for goals in the future.”
