WATCH: Pad session goes wrong for Tyrone McKenna and Mark Ginley

Belfast’s Mark Ginley loved a war during his time as a professional fighter – and he showed over the weekend that he still has a chin.

The St Oliver Plunkett’s lightweight was always in fan-friendly fights and, with his self-described “paper skin,” always looked the worst for wear after battle.

Now retired, Ginley spends his time as a manager and cutman, and operates a successful personal training business out of Peak Physique Gym in Belfast.

Over the weekend Ginley was helping out friend, and current BUI Celtic light welter champion, Tyrone McKenna [12(4)-0-1] tick over before heading to Scotland to start camp with Danny Vaughan.

28 year old Ginley was the man on the pads, and put ‘The Mighty Celt’ through his paces, but would get accidentally caught with a signature short left uppercut from southpaw McKenna.

The shot brought a brief halt to the session, and left Ginley with a swollen lip – although McKenna saw the funny side.
