WATCH: Lee Haskins v Ryan Burnett – IBF Bantamweight World Title
Last night at the SSE Odyssey Arena in Belfast Ryan Burnett [17(9)-0] made his glorious homecoming.
The Antrim Road boxer outpointed reigning champion Lee Haskins to claim the IBF bantamweight title in front of an electric atmosphere, live on Sky Sports.
A controlled performance, Burnett dominated the experienced Englishman to take a wide points win – should one acknowledge that the 118:108 scorecard in favour of Haskins was actually intended for the Irish star.
Burnett could not miss with the right hand throughout and showed much greater speed than the Bristolian, downing him in the sixth, following which he seemed to injure his right arm, and eleventh rounds.
