WATCH: Jay Byrne goes head-to-head with Olympian ahead of fight tomorrow night
Dublin welterweight Jay Byrne [4(1)-1(0)] weighed in this afternoon in Glasgow for his big bout with Rio Olympian Josh Kelly tomorrow night.
Byrne takes on the Sunderland boxer over six rounds, live on Sky Sports, at the SSE Hydro on the Ricky Burns v Julius Indongo WBA-IBF light welterweight unification bill.
It is a professional debut for ‘Pretty Boy’ Kelly who has linked up with Adam Booth in London since turning over.
Tomorrow’s clash was made for 156lbs, two pounds above the light middleweight limit.
At the scales, Byrne’s weight was announced as 159lbs (although the figure shown on the scales said 156lbs). Kelly was then announced at 156lbs (with a figure of 155.5 being shown on the scales).
Following the weigh-in, the pair went face-to-face for their first and final head-to-head before tomorrow night’s fight.
