WATCH: Frampton v Gutierrez – Weigh-In & Head-to-Head – ‘The Jackal’ misses weight

Carl Frampton saw the world title eliminator status of his homecoming fight revoked this afternoon.

The Belfast fighter came in above the featherweight limit for his clash with Andres Gutierrez tomorrow night at the SSE Odyssey Arena, live on Channel 5.

The clash will still go ahead, but will not act as a WBC eliminator for Frampton, who came in at 127lbs at the Europa Hotel.

While it wasn’t expressed beforehand, it seemed to be a premeditated move by the Frampton side.

Following the surprise at the weigh-in, ‘The Jackal’ went head-to-head with Gutierrez, who weighed in at 125.6lbs

The fight will still go ahead, but now will no longer act as a world title eliminator for Frampton.
