WATCH: Carl Frampton starts camp in Manchester for Nonito Donaire fight

Camp has begun.

Carl Frampton [24(14)-1(0)] has flown out to Manchester to start fight camp for his April 21st featherweight clash with four-weight champion and future Hall of Famer Nonito Donaire.

The 30-year-old has linked back up with Jamie Moore at the VIP Gym in Astley and will now embark on a ten-week camp before returning to Belfast for fight week.

The twelve-rounder at the SSE Odyssey Arena will be Frampton’s second with new coach Moore, having teamed up with the former top light middleweight following his split from the McGuigans.

The pair’s first fight together saw Frampton overcome tough Mexican Horacio Garcia in November.

The Tigers Bay man has noted how he is training smarter under Moore, and that there is a more varied intensity to camp – including a substantial reduction in the amount of sparring

‘The Jackal’ has been ticking over in ‘pre-camp’ at GymCo in West Belfast, training with Ray Ginley among others.

He was back going through his paces today though in the VIP Gym where he is a stablemate of Martin Murray, Rocky Fielding, Tommy Coyle, Haroon Khan, and fellow Irish fighters Conrad Cummings and Steven Ward.
