Warren disappointed in Ormond

Frank Warren declared his disappointment in Stephen Ormond after the unbeaten Irish lightweight failed to take a February 10 fight with Kevin Mitchell.
The English promoter called a press conference for yesterday to announce the fight and admitted he was upset when the Clondalkin fighter informed him the night before he wasn’t going to compete in the bout.
Former Irish amateur stand out Ormond agreed to trade leather with Mitchell, who is said to be on the verge of a world title fight, twice last year only for it to fall trough on the British star’s end.
The Celtic Gym fighter, however didn’t sign a contract for the second rescheduling of the clash, but Warren is upset and accused the Irish fighter of going missing.
“I am very disappointed in Ormond. Here is a guy that was training for a fight in Liverpool on December 10, which was called off, so obviously he was fit. I gave him a big chance with this fight and he is just gone on the missing list. I am very disappointed.”
