Ward buzzing ahead of latest APB clash

Joe Ward is buzzing ahead of his AIBA Pro Boxing clash with Germany’s Serge Mitchel in Bulgaria, according to Irish coaches Eddie Bolger and Zuar Antia.

Ward, ranked No. 6 in the world by AIBA, and Mitchel are slated to clash over six rounds on Sofia on Friday night. The 81kg meeting is the first on the bill. Click here.

The Irish contingent arrived in Sofia yesterday and Ward has his first training session this morning.

“Joe had a great session this morning and he is in fantastic shape. He’ll have another session early this evening, said Eddie Bolger.

“It promises to be a fantastic card on Friday night as it will feature world class boxers, the best in the business at this weight class.”

Boxing begins at 5:30pm (Irish time) on Friday.

David Oliver Joyce will be in APB action versus German lightweight Artur Bril in Astana. Kazakhstan on December 20th.
