Vladimir Belujsky to put Sky Sports disappointment behind him in Spain this weekend

Vladimir Belujsky [9(7)-3(1)-1] has added further Irish interest to this weekends Onguardamar Arena card in Alicante.

The super Cork based middleweight joins Dylan Moran, Tony Browne and debutant John Cooney on the Spanish card.

It’s a nice consolation prize for the Slovak Rebel after he saw a big clash with John Docherty fall through.

Previously undefeated Docherty was looking for an opponent for the Katie Taylor Miriam Gutierrez card, Belujsky was ready to step in at late notice, agreed to the fight and had travel arrangements sorted.

However, a cut suffered by Jaime Cox, who was set to fight Jack Cullen on the same card, opened a door for a bigger fight for the Scott.

Last Man Standing semi finalist, Cullen managed to defeat the prospect last night, which rubbed further salt in the wounds of Belujsky, who really fancied the job.

The Middletown fighter wasn’t waiting long to secure a date and confirmed he will trade leather in Spain this weekend, November 21.

An opponent has yet to be confirmed and there is talk of a possible December date for the 26-year-old, who recently had a public spat with Craig McCarthy.
