Billy Joe Saunders talked to IFL TV in Manchester this week after his WBO middleweight challenge to Andy Lee was moved from Thomond Park to Manchester and September 17 to October 10.
Saunders played down the move of venue, claiming it won’t give him any significant advantage signing from the ‘there are only two of us in the ring’ hymn sheet.
The English challenger, who is training alongside some Irish fighters in the MGM for his fight with Lee, was a cert for a bad reception after some jestful yet disparaging remarks about Irish fight legend Katie Taylor.
Saunders seemed aware of the that fact and joked while talking to IFL TV that the Olympic Champion might have beaten him up if he had to come to Limerick.
