Jamie Kavanagh made a winning return to the National Stadium yesterday after 7 years away.

The MGM lightweight faced Oszkar Fiko in an eight round bout, and was made to work for his win against a dirty opponent in a foul-ridden bout.

The Hungarian was docked two points during the clash for persistent fouling and Kavanagh finally stopped the fatigued Central European fighter in the penultimate round – sending the large Crumlin crowd in attendance into pandemonium.
