VIDEO: Cork’s Cuban Mike Perez and Alexander Povetkin weigh in

Alexander Povetkin and Mike Perez battle it out on May 22nd in a highly anticipated WBC eliminatory fight, with the winner then matched up against WBC Champion, Deontay Wilder.

Perez (21-1-1, 13 KOs), aged 29, originally from Cuba and now an Ireland resident, lost by a close decision against Bryant Jennings in last July, then he defeated Darnell Wilson in February 5th, which was his first bout trained plus prepared by Robert Garcia.

Povetkin, from Russia (28-1, 20 KOs), has only one lost and it was against Wladimir Klitschko in 2013. Then, in 2014 he knocked out to Manuel Char and Carlos Takam, the last contest, with the WBC Silver title on the line.
