WATCH: Two-round demolition for Connor Coyle on UFC Fight Pass
Derry middleweight Connor Coyle continued his climb towards title contention last night in Las Vegas.
The Foylesider topped another Roy Jones Jr-promoted card live on UFC Fight Pass, scoring a second-round stoppage over Rafael Ramirez at the Viejas Casino and Resort in Alpine, California.
Scheduled for 10, it never looked likely to go the distance with Coyle attacking the former Floyd Mayweather sparring partner from the off.
The Commonwealth Games bronze medallist suffered a points deduction early on – for pushing the beleagured Ramirez to the canvas – but would have the veteran down legitimately moments later with a heavy flurry.
The punishment continued into the second round and, following another two one-sided minutes, Ramirez’s corner had seen enough and threw in the towel.

Coyle will be keen to fight at least once more this year as he races up the ranks ahead of a big 2020.
