Tough unbeaten opponent next for Darragh Foley
Darragh Foley [9(7)-2(0)] will look to begin his climb up through the WBA World rankings before the year is out.
The Blanchardstown light welterweight won the WBA Oceania title back in July with a sixth round revenge stoppage of Joebert De los Reyes. ‘Super’ Foley will now defend the belt for the first time and aim to enter the WBA Top 15 on Friday December 2nd.
It has been announced that the 28 year old Australian-based Dubliner will face tough Argentinian Luis Ernesto Rueda [13(4)-0] in a battle of the southpaws at Luna Park in Sydney.
The South American’s last two fights have been scheduled ten rounders where he has outpointed two-time World title challenger Mauricio Javier Munoz, and two-time South American title challenger Sergio Javier Escobar.
Foley is not worried about facing an unbeaten opponent who is ranked higher than him, and said “records never bother me, he’s not the first and he won’t be the last 0 I scalp.”
