Tough test for Tennyson who takes on former Martínez and Casey opponent

Promoter Mark Dunlop has secured yet another solid opponent for BBBoC Celtic featherweight champion James Tennyson [13(10)-1(1)]. Next month at the Europa Hotel, the 24 year old hotshot will face Georgian gatekeeper George Gachechiladze [18(11)-20(11)] in a six round contest.

Gachechiladze has previously traded leather with former world champion Kiko Martínez, and former world title challengers Willie Casey, Martin Ward, and Tshifhiwa Munyai. Tennyson, who has British title aspirations, will be looking to make a statement on the October 17th dinner show.

The Assassin won the Celtic belt earlier in the year with a dismantling of former Carl Frampton opponent Kris Hughes, to add to the Irish title he won in 2013 after steam-rolling Mickey Coveney.

‘Champions at The Europa’ is headlined by lightweight Paul Hyland Jnr, along with Irish light middleweight champion, James “The Future” Fryers and 2014 Commonwealth Games silver medalist Joe “The Dragon” Fitzpatrick.
