Top Irish Boxers to go toe-to-toe for charity

Tomorrow evening [July 21st] in Dublin sees one of the biggest Irish amateur boxing nights of the Summer.

Growing Dublin outfit St Catherine’s Boxing Club hit the Ringside Club at the National Stadium for a talent-packed club show in aid of Our Lady’s Hospital in Crumlin.

Over 30 Irish boxers from over 20 clubs will be in action from Schoolboys right up to Senior Elite level. There are three Elite bouts up for decision including a titanic heavyweight tussle between Kenny Okungbowa and Kevin Sheehy, both Senior Elite runners-up in the past.

Also on the bill, European bronze medalist Deano Walsh takes on Crumlin’s Peter Carr at welterweight while Johnny Maughan faces David Bicevas in a middleweight match-up that is sure to be a war.

There are familiar names throughout the card, with EU Youth silver medalist and Under-22 champion Chaz O’Neill boxing Seanin Flynn and Intermediate champ Tommy Casey in against Chris Riggs, while European Schoolboys silver and World Junior bronze medalist Paul Ryan continues his move to the adult ranks versus Dominic Donegan.

There is underage quality throughout the card, with double European Schoolboys bronze medalist Cain Lewis fighting Irish team-mate Sean Roche, and European Schoolboys bronze medalists Jordan Ward and Francis Maughan fighting James Redmond and Jake Cox respectively.

Boxing starts at 6:30pm and tickets can be bought on the door for just €5.

There will also be a raffle on the night with some top prizes along with some very special guests from the world of boxing.
