Tommy McCarthy wins first fight under new trainer

Tommy McCarthy impressed on SPIKE TV tonight pushing his record to 7-0 with a points win.

He isn’t quite Courtney Fry, but Marin Szatmari (8-3-1) came into the clash with a winning record and on the back of four wins.

The Hungarian represented decent last minute opposition for McCarthy, who only agreed to punch on the card earlier this week, but McCarthy handled him easily enough registering a shut out points win.

The fighter, who is being lined up for British and European title fights in 2016, was awarded a 60-54 points win during his first fight with former World Champion Brian Magee in his corner.

McCarthy won’t be taking his Christmas holidays just yet, as he is out for the eight time as a pro in Blackpool next weekend.
