Times for Irvine and Joyce’s Olympic box offs

Brendan Irvine meets Daniel Asanov of Bulgaria for a place at Rio 2016 in Samsun,Turkey tomorrow.

The box-off for the third place begins at 4pm (Irish time).

The Bulgarian, who edged out Ireland’s Frankie Cleary (Olympic BC) on a split decision in the 2013 European Junior final, claimed Strandja Memorial gold earlier this year.

Meanwhile, David Oliver Joyce faces Turkish lightweight Volkan Gokcek in a box-off for a Rio 2016 place shortly after 4pm (Irish time) on Sunday.

Earlier on Sunday, Olympic, World and European lightweight champion Katie Taylor faces Svetlana Staneva (Bulgaria) in a box-off for 3rd and 4th position.
