TG4 confirm details for ‘Clash of the Titans’ – TV RUNNING ORDER

TG4 have unveiled the broadcast details for the big ‘Clash of the Titans’ pro show at the National Stadium next Saturday [March 30th].

The Assassin Promotions and Boxing Ireland Promotions co-promotion brings domestic dust-ups back to Irish terrestrial television for the first time in almost a decade with three big all-Irish fights to be shown live and more to be streamed.

A bumper bill, action will begin in the late afternoon before a livestream will begin on the SportTG4 YouTube channel at 5:55pm (Irish time) which will run for the rest of the night.

Live televised coverage will then begin on the main TG4 channel at 8:30pm and will run until 11:00pm – with four fights being shown.

The bouts which will be broadcast live on television are as follows:

Fight #1
Martin Quinn v Francy Luzoho
6 rounds x 3 mins – Light Welterweight
BUI Celtic title eliminator

Fight #2
Katelyn Phelan v Monika Antonik
4 rounds x 2 mins – Light Welterweight
Professional debut

Fight #3
Victor Rabei v Jake Hanney
8 rounds x 3 mins – Light Welterweight
BUI Celtic title

Fight #4
Eric Donovan v Stephen McAfee
10 rounds x 3 mins – Featherweight
vacant Irish title

The fights that will be shown during the two-and-a-half hour YouTube stream will be confirmed shortly – although it can be assumed that the BUI Celtic super featherweight title fight between Aiden Metcalfe and Allan Phelan and the bout between Dylan Moran and Gyorgy Mizsei Jr will feature prominently.

The card also features two light middleweight domestics with Graham McCormack boxing Jade Karam and Cillian Readon clashing with Jordan Latimer along with a super featherweight grudge match between Declan Kenna and Kelvin McDonald. Then there are appearances for Killarney super feather Siobhan O’Leary, Swords heavyweight Paddy Nevin, Waterford super middleweight Craig McCarthy, Jobstown super bantamweight Carl McDonald (subject to his fight in Scotland tonight), Smithfield welterweight Keane McMahon, Shercock light middleweight Owen Duffy and debuts for Milltown light heavyweight Kevin Cronin and Bray super bantam Sam Carroll.

Analysis on the night will come from former world champ Andy Lee and his fellow Olympian Darren O’Neill, with Máire Treasa Ní Cheallaigh presenting.

Commentary will be provided by the duo of Seán Bán Breathnach and former unified champ Ryan Burnett – with Cárthach Bán Breathnach behind the mic for the stream.

TG4’s Head of Sport, Rónán Ó Coisdealbha, said that “TG4 are very pleased to be broadcasting another night of boxing from the National Stadium. Following on from a night of high drama in Castlebar in last December we feel it’s important that boxers should have a national platform to showcase their talents.”

“We’re delighted to be able to bring this to a national free to air audience.”

Tickets for ‘Clash of the Titans’ cost €40 (general), €60 (ringside), and €100 (VIP) and are available from the boxers involved or Ticketmaster (CLICK HERE).
