TG4 to broadcast National Elite Men’s Championships

By Bernard O’Neill – IABA Press Officer

The Irish Amateur Boxing Association is delighted to announce TG4 as the exclusive broadcaster of the National Elite Men’s Championship Finals which is being hosted on 11th December 2015. TG4 will broadcast every bout live from the National Stadium and they will also be showing a one hour highlights programme of the finals on the following weekend of 18th/19th December.

TG4 will also be ensuring that boxing fans and Irish people all over the world can watch the National Elite Men’s Championship Finals by broadcasting the event live on the TG4 Player / website (www.tg4.tv).

Speaking on the announcement, Ronan Ó Coisdealbha, Head of Sport, TG4 says “we are absolutely delighted to have secured the exclusive broadcasting rights again for Ireland’s premier boxing event and we are committed to bringing a first class production and in-depth boxing coverage on the night. This the third consecutive year that TG4 will be broadcasting the event and it promises to be one of the most competitive yet as Ireland’s elite boxers have one eye on a national title and another towards Olympic glory next year’.

TG4 have also committed to a running a national press advertising campaign leading up to the elite championships which should help further boost their growing audience figures for the event.

The Irish Amateur Boxing Association would like to thank both RTE and Setanta for also submitting strong broadcaster proposals for the upcoming Elite Championships.
