Terrestrial TV details for Carl Frampton versus Jamel Herring
Carl Frampton’s attempt to make Irish boxing history will be broadcast on television.
‘The Jackal’s’ shot at WBO super featherweight world champion Jamel Herring looked set, until the weekend, to be streamed on YouTube.
However, it seems Channel 5 have ridden to the rescue and the Belfast fighter’s attempt to become the first Irishman to become a three-weight world champion will be given a TV platform.
BT Sport were set to broadcast the world title fight when it was first schedueled for July of last year and February 28 of this year.
However, after they failed to announce the airing of the rescheduled clash fight fans became worried. IFL TV then looked set to broadcast the historic world title fight until Channel 5 stepped in and agreed to air a bout that will also be shown on ESPN + across America.
The card looks will glove off at 8pm Irish time with the main event scheduled for 10pm Irish time. It’s understood Tyrone McKenna’s co-feature clash against undefeated Kazakh Zhankosh Turarov will not be on the British station, rather that will be broadcast on IFL TV’s youtube channel.
