Taylor will find the key to unlock Yunhua Yin’s defence
Katie Taylor will have a plan A, B and even a plan C for her semi-final clash with Chinese southpaw Yunhua Yin in the AIBA World lightweight semi-final in Jeju, Korea on Sunday morning.
Taylor will be in the ring at approximately 6am (Irish time). TG4’s live coverage on Sunday begins at 5am. TG4 will have live coverage of all the semi-final bouts (5am to 7:35am and 10am to 12:35pm). Commentary by Seán Bán Breathnach.
Viewers can catch the entire fight again on TG4 at 5:30pm on Sunday afternoon.
If Taylor, who is guaranteed at least bronze in Jeju, makes the final, TG4 will have live coverage on Monday morning from 5am to 9:30am.
Taylor will be aiming to take a step closer toward winning her fifth consecutive lightweight title she first won gold in New Delhi in 2006 against the current Asian champion tomorrow morning.
France’s Estelle Mossely, who Taylor beat in the 2013 and 2014 European Union and European finals, and Azerbaijan’s Yana Allekseeva clash in the corresponding semi-final tomorrow.
Irish coach Zuar Antia, meanwhile, is confident.
“We have a plan A, we have a plan B, we even have a plan C, said Antia, a six-time Elite champion in his native Georgia.
“Katie is a very experienced boxer. She has very good skills, has many tactical good things. I’m sure we will find the key against this girl.”
