Taylor Made for European Champs- Katie Progresses in Style
It was business as usual for Katie Taylor as she made he European Championship debut on Sunday.
The Olympic and World Champion moved into the quarter-final stage after a comfortable win over Denitsa Eliseeva of Bulgaria.
The Bray BC puncher registered a shut out 40-36, 40-36, 40-36 and 40-36 win and progressed in style.
Eliseeva was the last fighter to beat Taylor in 2011, but was no match for her this time as the Bray boxer looked comfortable in all four rounds.
The first round was bagged in routine fashion, while the second went Taylor’s way after a boxing masterclass, the ‘greatest female boxer on the planet’ planeted her feet more and the power shots go in the third and took the fourth with little trouble.
Taylor’s next opponent on Wednesday is 19-year-old Ida Lundblad from Sweden.
