Taylor Beats Belder as Ireland take on Dutch

Katie Taylor claimed an emphatic 25-5 win over Holland’s Jessica Belder at the National Stadium in Dublin last night.

The Bray BC lightweight, the current World and European champion, was 17-3 up going into the third round of the 60Kg encounter en route to recording her second victory in-a-row over the Dutch lightweight.
Taylor and Belder clash again in Cavan on Sunday.

Michelle Lynch, Dervla Duffy, Sarah Close and Claire Grace also had their hands raised in victory last evening.
Lynch edged out Bianca Elmir 42-41 on a countback following a 14-14 tie.

Duffy, Close and Grace earned impressive decisions, but Christine Gargan and Sinead Kavanagh both lost out at the South Circular Road venue.

Both nations meet again at the Cavan Crystal Hotel on Sunday evening.
