Talk of a potential George Groves v Brian Magee dust up is pure speculation according to the Belfast veterans manager Pat Magee and it seems the former Olympian has bigger boxing fish to fry.
The super middleweight fighter fuelled speculation of an Irish-English show down by telling World Boxing News that if the right offer came in he would be willing to share a ring with James Degales recent defeater.
However, manager Pat Magee dismissed all Groves Magee talk as rumour, but stressed he is actively exploring a number of possibilities for the WBA #5, WBC #9 and IBF #8 fighter. Indeed claims he could have concrete news on whats next for the former European and British champion and recent IBF world title challenger.
Talk of George Groves is pure speculation, Magee told www.irish-boxing.com.
Brian is still active and is a sought after fighter. He is ranked in the top ten in the WBA, WBC and IBF governing bodies. There are a number of options there for Brian and we are actively exploring them. It is possible we could have an announcement as early as next week.
