Sweeney: Tims and I perfect for Thomond but I don’t think he would take it
<
THE hot air that existed between Micheal Sweeney and Ian Tims looked to have deflated when ‘The Storm’ injured a lung just a week shy of their proposed Return of The Mack clash last November.
Any hope of the eagerly anticipated rematch ever happening seemed gone, but Mayo man Sweeney lit the flame again on Tuesday and said the domestic dust up was ideal for the undercard of Andy Lee and Billy Joe Saunders World title fight set for Thomond Park on September 19.
In an interview with Irish-boxing.com that is set to ensure another war of words between the duo even if the pair don’t trade blows beyond the slap at their last head to head the Cruiserweight, who lost to the Dubliner on the undercard of another Limerick man, Willie Casey back in 2011 said he wanted the clash but he can’t see ‘The Tank’ rolling to Limerick to take it.
