Sutcliffe’s power to put to the test on August 1
BIG punching Irish welterweight Philip Sutcliffe Jr’s power will be tested when he returns to the August 1.
The former Senior Champion and national Stadium favourite will be one of a number marque prospects on display at the Falls Marque, Belfast as he goes to work for the eight time as a pro.
English hard man Ryan Hardy will man the opposite corner and while he isn’t as highly ranked as ‘Succo’s’ most recent foe Yoann Portailler he will provide the kind of resistance that can put the Dubliners power to the test.
Each of the 26 year old Crumlin BC graduate’s seven pro opponents have hit the canvas at various stages, with two recovering to make it the scorecards. Hard man hardy, who has seven wins and seven defeats since turning over three years ago, has never been stopped.
The Sheffield native took ‘The Captain’ Tom Stalker eight rounds, as well making the final bell against the likes of Glenn Foot, Adil Anwar and current English welterweight title custodian Adam Little.
As a result Hardy provides the Pat Magee managed hard to match puncher a chance to out do some top UK prospects. His impressive display Terry Needham already grants him the chance to make favourable comparisons to hyped Matchroom prospect Tommy Martin. Martin was dropped by Needham early doors, but recovered to stop the Liverpool native in the seventh-Suctliffe blew Needham away in a round.
