Sutcliffe on cloud nine- big punching prospect wins again

On a night in which Chris Eubank Jr defeated Gary O’Sullivan Irish fight fans were able to celebrate a win for a Junior.

Phillip Sutcliffe Jnr maintained his 100 percent record with victory over Lukasz Janik in Blackpool on Saturday night.

The light welterweight prospect told Irish-boxing.com pre fight that he was in the mood to inflict damage, but felt some pressure to go rounds in a bid to stop big names fearing his power.

As a result he was caught in two minds. However, he managed to do both going six rounds with tough Pole, but dropping him in round four.

The Crumlin BC graduate eventually recorded a 60-53 shut out win and pushed his record to 9-0.

‘Succo’ who is coached by his father and former Olympian Phil Sutcliffe snr, is keen to secure a fight that will start those outside boxing circles talking positively about him in 2016 and his team are targeting a European title assault next year.
