Philip Sutcliffe Jr. OFF Belfast Féile bill

In some unfortunate news, Crumlin knockout sensation, Phil Sutcliffe Jr., has been forced to withdraw from this weekend’s card at the Féile an Phobail in Belfast due to injury.

The injury in question is yet another hand injury. Nevertheless, fans of Sutcliffe and his one-punch knock-out power needn’t worry too much as this war wound is merely a “badly bruised baby knuckle” – and completely unrelated to the broken hands that previously plagued the former amateur star.

Sutcliffe had been scheduled to face the hyper-durable Englishman Ryan Hardy. The Sheffield light welterweight has never been knocked out and has shared the ring with the likes of Glenn Foot and Tom Stalker.

Speaking exclusively to irish-boxing.com, ‘Succo’ however felt he would have had shattered Hardy’s hardy record, saying that “I was looking forward to going through him.”

Sutcliffe is not too disheartened though, saying it is “just unlucky” and hopes to be back out again “at the end of September or October.”
