Superfly hits Spain-Tony Browne wins in Alicante

Just over a month since his professional debut Tony Browne (2(1)-0) strapped on the gloves again in Spain against Hubert Rodger Kuate (2(0)-2(0) ) in Alicante tonight.

Big things were expected of ‘Superfly’ after he made the switch to the paid ranks and it’s clear he is not here for any easy fights and wants to progress quickly and impressed again tonight against a tough opponent who brought the fight to Browne and made him work for the victory.

After a 1st round knockout last month against a late replacement it was important to get some rounds in for the Dublin native, and after six tough rounds, he was declared the winner via unanimous decision.

The standout amateur, trained by Stephen O’Rourke fought on the card alongside three of his fellow native boxers, speaking to Irish-Boxing.Com earlier this week Browne addressed his delight on being out so soon after his debut “I’m delighted to be getting out so soon again, obviously, I didn’t get to showcase my skills the last time but I was very happy with my performance and I want to be kept as busy as possible.”

In a time when fighters struggle for dates, it’s a positive sign that Browne is being kept so active under the tutelage and promotion of Star Boxing.
