Steve Collins to work Keelers corner in Prizefighter

LUKE Keeler will take to the ring on the biggest night of his career without regular trainer Pascal Collins in his corner, but has secured a legendary replacement in the form of two weight World champ Steve Collins.

‘Cool Hand’ will compete in a Blackpool hosted Prizefighter – the middleweights tournament on Valentines Day, but his coach will be in Wolverhampton on the same night with Keeler’s stable mate Stephen Ormond for his fight with Terry Flanagan for the right to become mandatory for the WBO lightweight World title.

It’s not ideal for the Dublin middleweight, but he feels he has an able replacement in Steve Collins and suggests the work will be done with Celtic Warrior Gym boss Pascal well before he trades leather live on SKY.

Keeler also expects to take calls from his coach between bouts up and until Ormond gets in the ring.
