Stephen Ormond wins WBO European Fighter of the Year
STEPHEN Ormond was named the WBO European Fighter of the Year in Las Vegas on Thursday.
The Dublin lightweight was awarded the accolade at the 27th WBO Convention Gala Night held at the Caesars Palace.
The WBO European Champion wasn’t in Vegas to collect the award, rather was informed of the honour by promoter Frank Warren.
The award will prove a massive boost for Ormond ahead of his mouthwatering clash with Terry Flanagan which now looks set to play out on a December 13 Liverpool card.
