Stephen Carroll to face Baltic brawler next weekend

Stephen Carroll [2(2)-0] will face another brawling opponent next week on the FS Promotions ‘The Future’ show.

‘Shortty’ faces Latvian light welter Jevgenijs Kravcuks [1(1)-1(0)] on the bill at the National Stadium on Saturday night. The Baltic newcomer recently endeared himself the the York Hall crowd with his performance in a fire-fight with prospect Georgie Wright early this month.

The choice of an aggressive rather than a defensive fighter will certainly please those who will attend next week, and Ballyfermot’s Carroll will have to be tuned-in from the first bell.

In his most recent fight, last November at the Red Cow Moran Hotel, Carroll was involved in a bad-tempered, crowd-pleasing scrap with Asen Vasilev.

Inevitably, Carroll’s performance next weekend will be measured against Dublin rival Sean Creagh, who also appears on the bill. The pair have both stated their willingness to meet in the ring, with a cracking Christmas clash looking possible.
