Spike to return to light middleweight and America in July

Carl Frampton won’t be the only Irish fighter fighting on the East Coast of America in July.

Gary ‘Spike’ O’Sullivan will return for the first time since his defeat to former World title challenger and current British Champion Chris Eubank Jr on a Murphy’s Boxing show in Plymouth Massachusetts in late July.

O’Sullivan will fight at light middleweight for the first time 2009 as he bids to move into world title contention at the lower weight.

O’Sullivan will fight a yet to be confirmed opponent will be hoping for a bout that will provide him with the chance to secure a top 15 ranking at light middle and make him World title eligible.

Four of O’Sullivan’s last five fights have played out in America and all four have been won by way of stoppage. The Cork middleweight will be hopeful of a similar outcome this Summer.
