Spike O’Sullivan set for first fight since Eubank Jr

Gary O’Sullivan will fight for the first time since his Chris Eubank Jr defeat in America this Summer.

The Cork puncher will return to light middleweight for the first time since 2009 in his 25th fight.

The 31 year old will fight on the undercard of a potentially massive fight for Stephen Ormond in America.

Speaking to Irish-boxing.com the Murphy boxing stars coach and manager Pascal Collins wasn’t willing to share specifics but did confirm  “Spike will be back out in June or July and at light middleweight.”

O’Sullivan began his career at light middle, but moved up to 160lbs when offered an Irish title fight with Ciaran Healy and followed the opportunities provided to him at the weight from there on out.

O’Sullivan, whose last out was a December defeat to Eubank Jr, and Ormond may appear on a Murphy’s boxing show on his return, but their links to AL Haymon the Celtic Warrior Gym fighter may be scheduled for a PBC show.
