GARY ‘Spike’ O’Sullivan registered a Murphy’s Boxing debut win and showed American fight fans what he is about with a routine victory in Boston.
The Cork middleweight beat Larry Smith into submission in Memorial Hall, Melrose, Massachusetts on Thursday night.
‘Slow Motion’ failed couldn’t get off the stool for the third round and retired handing the Celtic Warrior Gym fighter his twelfth career stoppage and career win number 19.
O’Sullivan hurt the American early in the fight, landing a range of impressive body shots to knock the wind out of the Texan.
After another round of punishment the 36 year old elected to stay on his stool handing Spike another victory.
O’Sullivan told media after the show he wants none other than Gennady Golovkin down the line.
Donegal’s Micheal McLaughlin was also trading leather on the card, but his opponent headed butted him in the first round and was disqualified.
