Spike O’Sullivan and David Lemieux clash again at weigh-in for World Title Final Eliminator
Both Spike O’Sullivan and David Lemieux have weighed in inside the 160lbs middleweight limit for their WBA middleweight final eliminator tomorrow night.
The big-hitting pair face off in Las Vegas on the Gennady Golovkin v Canelo Alvarez undercard at the T-Mobile Arena and hit the scales at the venue this evening.
Weighing in first, O’Sullivan came in at 159.2lbs.
Lemieux, who missed weight by 2lbs for his last fight, looked somewhat drawn and hit 160lbs on the button
A fight under the auspices of the WBA, there are no rehydration limits.
Following the weigh-ins the pair went head-to-head for the final time ahead of the fight tomorrow night.
Lemieux [39(33)-4(2)] had pushed O’Sullivan [28(20)-2(1)] away at the press conference yesterday, their first face-off, and their second meeting didn’t last long.
O’Sullivan, who claims to be a distant relative of John L Sullivan, adopted the traditional bareknuckle pose and was batted away by Lemieux almost immediately and the pair were separated by common promoter Oscar De La Hoya.
Speaking on stage, O’Sullivan said that “I could smell the fear and I could feel his heart beating, he was anxious, and he is shitting himself right now.”
“He’s a fucking asshole, that’s what gets under my skin.”
“You’re getting knocked the fuck out.”
Starting to think @lemieuxboxing and @spike_osullivan don’t like each other 👀.
