Spike and his Mankini continue ‘search’ for Ogogo in Subway
Spike O’Sullivan is not going to let this one slip.
The 32 year old Cork puncher was name dropped by Anthony Ogogo [11(7)-0] at the start of Febrary, who said he wanted a few knockouts and six months before a fight with the likes of Spike.
Like clockwork, almost exactly six months later, O’Sullivan [22(15)-2(1)] has launched a social media campaign to secure a fight with the Sauerland-promoted Olympic bronze medalist.
His quest for a clash with Ogogo has drawn support from his large following as well as Matchroom boss Eddie Hearn. The Sauerlands do not seem keen on the fight, arguing that O’Sullivan needs a win following his stoppage defeat to Chris Eubank Jr in December, before being considered as an opponent for Ogogo. Since mentioning O’Sullivan, 27 year old Ogogo has faced three opponents with a combined record of 34(24)-43(13)-3.
Ogogo, or the ‘Dancing Queen’ as he is called by O’Sullivan, has been absent from Twitter since the campaign began, and the Munster puncher has began to ‘search’ for the undefeated prospect.
Yesterday O’Sullivan, in his much-used mankini, went to Subway (who sponsored Ogogo following the Olympics) to ‘ask’ if they had seen him.
