Shipping out to Boston- Kennedy and Collins join Murphy’s boxing stable

Irish heavyweight Niall Kennedy and Steve Collins Jr have penned deals with Murphy’s Boxing, the promotional company run by Drop Kick Murphy’s lead singer Ken Casey.

The Celtic Warrior duo will make American debuts on June 27 and could become a regular fixture on the Boston fight scene.

Murphy’s Boxing have been working with and progressing Gary ‘Spike’ O’Sullivan over the last few months and want an Irish supporting cast for the middleweight World title hopeful.

So they have signed the Wexford big man and the son of Irish sporting legend Steve Collins.

“They have both teamed up with Murphy’s boxing,” coach Pascal Collins told Irish-boxing.com.

“Ken Casey wants to push Spike even further and wants good undercard fighters. What better people to have than the son of Steve Collins, who made his name out in America and Niall Kennedy, who is a police man and is by all accounts some form of cousin to none other than JFK.”
